7/10
This horror entry trades traditional tropes for a localized, unsettling atmosphere. Here is a breakdown of why it belongs in your collection: Pacing & Dynamic: The film utilizes a slow-burn start to emphasize the friction between Anna and her grandmother, May. The initial "off" chemistry effectively mirrors their deep generational divide. The Entity: It redefines the Sandman, stripping away the folklore we know to present him as a specific, haunting fixture of Porterville. Verdict: While it lacks the flashy hallmarks of a cult classic, its grounded approach to regional horror makes it a solid addition for enthusiasts.
